A Chinese fan-shaped watercolor painting on paper, mounted to silk. This piece depicts a loosely-rendered landscape with houses and figures toward the right side of the composition. The painting features a mostly-gray palette and includes a signature seal and block of text toward its upper left. It is presented under acrylic glass in a green and gold tone frame with an opening to its verso to reveal a red wax seal, along with handwriting indicating that the piece was purchased in China ‘May 83.’ There is no hardware for hanging.

- debris beneath glass; water spots at right side of silk mat backing; smudges at bottom left; toning and creases throughout ground; foxing around edges of ground; wear to paint and edges of frame; frame missing wire hanger.
