A mid-century carved soapstone bird figurine by artist Bernad. The piece depicts a small standing bird with raised tail feathers, rendered in mottled hues of brown, olive green, orange and cream. The piece rests on two bent metal legs and is signed ‘Bernad NKA’ with an incised marking to the underside.

Condition

- surface abrasion on bottom of bird’s chest; minor markings and scratches throughout; oxidation, discoloration and nicks to metal legs and feet.
