Northern Thai Sung Lisu Lute

A sung lisu lute from Northern Thailand. Made by the Lisu hill tribe of Northern Thailand, the lute is known by many names including tseubeu, subu, deuham, dsyböö, and sae mu. This three-stringed fretless plucked instrument has a wooden neck, wood tuning pegs, a wooden body with a pierced back, and a snakeskin head. It is unlabeled.

Condition

- wear and residue; minor scratches to wood finish; one peg and two strings missing; untested.
