A late 20th-century weighted bronze sculpture titled Warrior created in the manner of American Western-genre artist Frederic Remington (1861 – 1909). The piece depicts a Sioux warrior on horseback with shield and weapon drawn for battle. The item appears to be signed in mold just above the base, and marked to the opposite side with the name ‘Frederic Remington’ inscribed in gold tone lettering by an unknown hand. The sculpture is mounted to a rounded black marble base.
Condition
- to fair; horse’s tail has broken off; white stains near figure’s right ankle; minor surface wear and markings throughout; accretion and dust to figure and base; scuffs, discoloration and adhesive residue to marble base.
