Edward Hill Oil Painting on Canvas Still Life
Item Details
An oil painting still life on canvas by listed American artist Edward Hill (1843-1923). This still life composition depicts an arrangement of red and green grapes, peaches, and bananas on a shallow platter that is resting on a tiled surface against a green background. The work is signed in the lower right ‘Edward Hill’. It is presented in a gilded wood and gesso frame with a hanging wire mounted to the verso.
Condition
- notable gash in center of canvas below the banana; apparent inpainting to the right of the bowl of fruit; minor wear and some moderate loss of gesso to frame.
