A signed lithograph on paper titled Heading for Port by well listed and famed marine artist Gordon Grant (American, 1875 – 1962). This print, rendered with expressive lines, depicts a stormy scene with two men standing on a ship deck as waves crash against the sailing vessel. It is signed by hand in graphite to the lower right corner. The print is matted in off-white and presented behind glass in a wooden frame with a paper backing and metal hanging wire to the verso. Adhered to the verso is a label with additional information on this work.

Born in San Francisco, Gordon Grant studied art at the Lambeth School of Art in London. He is known for his etchings and paintings of marine subjects, portraits, harbor scenes, street scenes, and illustrations for various magazines. His work has been collected by various institutions including the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Joslyn Art Museum, and the Library of Congress, among others.
