A pair of vintage Bill Schiffer hair barrettes. This selection features two hair barrettes, each in the shape of a Scottie dog. One is composed of red plastic and the other is black. They are fastened in the original black and white packaging marked ‘Barrettes by Schiffer Schiffer aesthetics’.

Born in New York, Schiffer rose to prominence as a painter and sculptor in the early 1980s. Though he still works in many mediums, Schiffer is most well known for his unique handcrafted jewelry, which he started designing after a foray experimenting with wearable art in the fashion scene. Schiffer’s art and jewelry has been shown in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris, as well as major museums in Italy, Japan, Germany and the United States. His work has been featured in publications including Vogue, Elle, Bazaar, Women’s Wear Daily, Seventeen and Cosmopolitan.
