Chinese Ceramic Planter

Item Details

A Chinese ceramic planter. This planter features a scalloped rim and figural fruit-shaped handles to either side. It is decorated with a blue floral motif over a white ground. The planter is marked Yong sheng tang zhi” (永勝堂製), which has been identified by some scholars as the hallmark of the Yongsheng (Eternal Victory) Ornamented Porcelain Factory (永勝彩瓷廠), which started to produce wares in the early Republic (1912-1949) in Hong Kong, and possibly mainland China as well.
