An antique Ansonia mantel clock. This antique Ansonia mantel clock features black finished cast iron construction with hand painted gilding around the clock face and across the base. The brass clock face features circular indents with black Arabic numbers, two key holes, floral embellishments and an egg and dart edge. It also offers silver-tone floral enhancements forming diamond shapes affixed at each side, lion heads on the side panels and scrolled leaf feet. The clock has an eight-day spring, is set up to chime every thirty minutes and the brass clockworks read, “Ansonia Clock Co. New York Patented June 18, 1882.”

Condition

- some dent and scrapes; missing rings from lion heads on sides.
