Antique Carved Helmet Shell Cameo Brooch

Item Details

An antique carved helmet shell cameo brooch, circa 1865-1885. The cameo bezel is set in a rolled gold tone frame with twisted ribbon edging and further embellished with an engraved leaf and vine design. The carving depicts a tree and two houses with a women crossing a bridge, a scene commonly referred to as the Rebecca at the Well. It features a T bar pin clasp to the back.
