Item Details

A hand-carved jet mourning brooch, circa mid 1800s. The brooch is well carved in high relief with flowers and leaves and features a matte finish, with a circa 1920s replacement c-catch. Jet is fossilized wood and was originally mined in the coastal cliffs of Whitby, England.
