A Persian style Nastaʿlīq manuscript page with gouache painting by an anonymous artist. This work depicts six men wearing white turbans and colorful clothing in a landscape with cypress trees. The painting accompanies hand-written inscriptions on both sides of the paper in Nastaʿlīq script. The piece is presented behind double glass in a gold tone wooden frame.
Condition
- some discoloration and marks throughout paper; some abrasions to painting; chip to underside of glass at lower left corner; chips throughout frame particularly to sight edge and lower left corner; abrasions and wear to frame; tape to frame at verso.
