Poly-Resin Sculpture After Salvador Dali "The Two Nikes, Victory of Samothrace"

Item Details

Resin

A poly-resin sculpture titled The Two Nikes, Victory of Samothrace after Salvador Dali. As indicated by the title, this piece is a representation of the famed second century B.C. Greek sculpture of the goddess Nike, Winged Victory of Samothrace. The sculpture had a deep impact on Renaissance art, in turn inspiring much of Dali’s later work. Dali mirrored the winged figure by putting them chest to chest. Dali also pays homage to French writer Raymond Roussel, who had had a profound impact on the Surrealist collection in France. The originals were cast in bronze and incised with the artist’s signature. This is a limited edition poly-resin statue, with the signature impressed on the base.
