An Indian gouache miniature on paper of a figurative scene. The manuscript leaf depicts an intimate scene with an elegantly dressed man reclining with six ladies enjoying libations in a lavish interior. The vignette is surrounded by extensive marginalia. The painting is presented floating in a white mat under glass with a wooden frame.
Condition
- to fair; scratches and wear to the edges of the frame; additional nicks to the face of the frame; edges of paper are ripped and torn; some warping to the surface of the paper; to the verso, some residue to the bottom right.
