Antique USPS Flying Eagle Mailbox Converted to Coin Bank

Item Details

An early-20th-century US postal service flying eagle mailbox converted to a coin bank. The piece features an embossed brass door with combination lock to the top, flying eagle emblem to the center and glass door with the number 44 painted in gilt and red tones. It is attached to a mahogany box with a slit to the top for depositing coins and currency. It has a grouping of golf balls to the interior and it is locked with the combination unknown.

Condition

- some oxidation and wear noted; locked and no combination included.
