Vintage Earl of Shelburne Brass Silent Butler

A vintage silent butler featuring the coat of arms of William Petty, the 2nd Earl of Shelburne, England. This piece is composed of a hinged brass body, accented with scalloped edge, and a wooden handle.
It is decorated with engraved insignia depicting a pegasus dexter and griffin sinister guarding a crowned shield. This seal is inscribed with a Latin banner: ‘Virtute Non Verbis (By valor, not words)’. Petty served as the British Prime Minister during the American Revolutionary War.
