Two Oil Paintings Still Life

Two oil paintings on board of still life compositions. One painting is by listed artist Fernando Ruiz de Ascarza (20th-century). Each work depicts a vase with flowers using thickly applied pigment. The smallest work is signed to the bottom right. Each painting is presented unmounted and without frames.

A supposed friend of well-known Cubist Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881 – 1973), Ascarza is known for his figurative paintings. The artist instructed a number of regional artists during his career.

Condition

- some wear to the edges of the board; to the verso, some wear and marks.
