Two Oil Paintings Including Kathryn Tauber
Item Details
A pair of oil paintings on canvas board. The first still life by Kathryn Tauber (20th-century) is dated 1969 and depicts a cut melon, blue pitcher, and grapes on white cloth; the second unsigned still life depicts a stein, pipe, bottle, and fruit arrangement on white cloth. The work by Tauber is signed and dated to the lower right corner. Each work is presented unframed.
Tauber is a regional American artist known for her still lifes and portraits. She studied under painter Fernando Ascarza (20th-century), a supposed friend of well-known Cubist Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881 – 1973). Describing herself as a hobbyist, the artist has never before presented her works to the market. EBTH is proud to offer Ms. Tauber’s works for the first time.
