This mahogany Chipendale Federal style wood grandfather clock has gold tone details, antiqued brass ball-and-spire finials atop the three wood chimneys, pierced decorative fretwork, and a rocking ship above the dial. The dial has Roman numerals, with rose and foliate spandrels, and scrolling pierce hands. This piece is marked ‘Aaron Willard Boston’ to the dial and ‘The Henry Ford Museum Greenfield Village, 5050’ to the verso. There are column capitals along the case door that includes a skeleton key, and the interior houses three brass weights. This piece rests on a crown moulding and four French style feet. This item is located on the second floor.
