An East African style carved wood figure. This piece presents a figure with an elongated head, surprised expression and stylized body, in a slightly crouching pose. The figure holds a vessel with one hand on his head and reaches for a snake winding around his waist with the other. The piece is presented on an organically shaped base, and there are no apparent maker’s marks.
