An original woodblock print titled Black Cat at Night by Japanese artist Kōhō Shōda (庄田耕峯, 1870 – 1946), created circa 1929. The print depicts a black cat curled beneath a shrub, his yellow eyes the only point of light on the dark night. The work is marked with the artist’s seal to the lower right, and their name is written in graphite to the lower margin. It is mounted to an off-white backing, and presented behind an off-white mat, under glass, in a black wood frame. It is ready to hang with a wire.

Condition

- print has shifted in frame. Toning to mat and backing. Wear to frame finish.
