A Seth Thomas Plymouth mantel clock. The clock is made by The Plymouth Clock Co. which was a division of Seth Thomas and is circa 1934. The Plymouth clock is an eight day tambour style with a walnut wood case that has a decorative design featuring inlaid Cuban mahogany and gilded trim. Other features of the clock include a brass bezel and glass cover that displays a white metal face with black Arabic numbers and hands and two brass key arbors. The case of the clock features a curved bonnet with sloping sides and a hinged wood door to the verso with a brass pendulum, chimes that ring on the half and the hour and the clock stands on a plinth style base with bracket feet. The clock is marked ‘Plymouth’ on the face.
