An oil painting on canvas of boats by listed artist Fernando Ruiz de Ascarza (20th-century). The work depicts a group of sailboats on the water using a variety of colors and thickly applied pigment. To the bottom right, the work is signed. The painting is presented unmounted and without a frame.

A supposed friend of well-known Cubist Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881 – 1973), Ascarza is known for his figurative paintings. The artist instructed a number of regional artists during his career.
