Kathryn Tauber Oil Paintings
Item Details
A pair of oil paintings on canvas and panel of oceanic scenes by artist Kathryn Tauber (American; 20th century). Depicted in the first is a cluster of waves crashing against a shoreline in white, frothy peaks. The second depicts a boardwalk on a sunny day with figures gazing out at a lone sailboat in the water. Artist’s signature is to the lower left of the smallest painting and to the verso on the larger. Pieces are presented without glass in wooden frames with wire hangers to the verso.
Tauber is a regional American artist known for her still lifes and portraits. She studied under painter Fernando Ascarza (20th-century), a supposed friend of well-known Cubist Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881 – 1973). Describing herself as a hobbyist, the artist has never before presented her works to the market. EBTH is proud to offer Ms. Tauber’s works for the first time.
