An oil painting on canvas board of a landscape by artist Kathryn Tauber (American, 20th-century). The work depicts a flowering tree next to a lake or pond using thickly applied pigment. To the bottom right, the work is signed. The painting is presented in a sloped white wooden frame without glass.
Tauber is a regional American artist known for her still lifes and portraits. She studied under painter Fernando Ascarza (20th-century), a supposed friend of well-known Cubist Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881 – 1973). Describing herself as a hobbyist, the artist has never before presented her works to the market. EBTH is proud to offer Ms. Tauber’s works for the first time.
Condition
- some chips and wear to the edges of the frame; to the right edge of the frame, large smudge; to the verso, some wear and staining to the protective backing.
