An oil painting on panel of a lakeside landscape by Charles Fritz (American; b. 1955). Depicted is a pine tree-lined lake with ominous clouds looming overhead and a mountain of in the distance. Artist’s signature is to the lower left corner in paint. Piece is presented without glass in a wooden frame with a wire hanger to the verso.
Charles Fritz, born in 1955 in Mason City, Iowa, is an avid landscape and genre scenes of the Rocky Mountains and Plains States. Fritz earned a B.S. degree from Iowa State University. Afterwards he took a job in construction and then traveled in Europe. In 1981, he finally settled on a six-acre homestead near Billings, Montana. Fritz’s style is a meticulous realist who paints idyllic scenes that focus on the beauty of nature.
