An oil painting on canvas of a still life by artist Kathryn Tauber (American, 20th-century). The work depicts a still life with pots, fruit, lettuces, and a steamed lobster using expressive brushstrokes. To the bottom right, the work is signed. To the verso, and gallery label is adhered. The painting is presented in a gold-toned wooden frame with a green velvet fillet without glass.
Tauber is a regional American artist known for her still lifes and portraits. She studied under painter Fernando Ascarza (20th-century), a supposed friend of well-known Cubist Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881 – 1973). Describing herself as a hobbyist, the artist has never before presented her works to the market. EBTH is proud to offer Ms. Tauber’s works for the first time.
