An oil painting on canvas of a harbor scene by artist Kathryn Tauber (American, 20th-century). The work depicts a harbor scene with a boat tied out to the water and figures on a dock to the right using thick brush strokes and thick chunks of white pigment. To the bottom right, the work is signed. To the verso, the work is additionally signed. The painting is presented in a decorative wooden frame without glass.
Tauber is a regional American artist known for her still lifes and portraits. She studied under painter Fernando Ascarza (20th-century), a supposed friend of well-known Cubist Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881 – 1973). Describing herself as a hobbyist, the artist has never before presented her works to the market. EBTH is proud to offer Ms. Tauber’s works for the first time.
