An oil painting on canvas board titled Scene on Magothy River by artist Kathryn Tauber (American, 20th-century), dated 1967. The work depicts figures on a group of piers lining the Magothy River in Maryland in front of a woodland landscape. The piece is signed to the lower right corner, and additionally signed, titled, and dated to verso. It is presented in a wood frame with a wire to verso for hanging purposes.
Tauber is a regional American artist known for her still lifes and portraits. She studied under painter Fernando Ascarza (20th-century), a supposed friend of well-known Cubist Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881 – 1973). Describing herself as a hobbyist, the artist has never before presented her works to the market. EBTH is proud to offer Ms. Tauber’s works for the first time.

- gap along upper edge between canvas board and frame; some discoloration to white paint of liner particularly to lower edge; chips to liner; scratches and wear to frame particularly to right edge.
