Pair of Hand-Knotted Tekke Bokhara Wool Accent Rugs
Item Details
A pair of hand-knotted Tekke Bokhara wool accent rugs. The larger of the two rugs features five pairs of white, sapphire blue and cinnamon Tekke medallions on a rosewood central ground, flanked by diamond hooked guls. The guard borders feature checkered patterns and a main arrow tip soldier border alternating in color over a black ground. It has an additional Dyrnak gul patterned panel and a floral panel to the short ends. The rug finishes with overcast selvedges, and a kilim skirt at either end. The smaller of the rugs features a series of Tekke guls running the length, in ivory, sapphire blue and salmon on a rosewood ground, flanked by Chemeche style hooked medallions. It has a starburst, flower box style primary border in the field colors, and compound guard borders in floral motifs. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishes with a short kilim skirt and knotted ivory fringe to each end. Both are not labeled.
