A reproduction rotogravure on paper after a gouache painting by listed Italian artist Marino Marini (1901-1980) titled Le Cavalier. Best known for his abstractions of horse and rider subject matter, this contemporary adaptation of an equestrian portrait is a classic representation of Marini’s catalog. The stylized line drawn horse and rider are expressively shaded with dark grey and set against a vibrant red background. The work is signed and dated in-plate in the lower right ‘1955 Marini’. It is presented under glass in a wood frame with a gold tone liner. There is a hanging wire mounted to the verso.

Condition

- Edge wear to frame. Print has some wrinkle in it, and is buckling at the upper margin.
