A late 20th-century offset lithograph on paper after Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s 1881 Impressionist oil painting titled Les Parapluies (The Umbrellas). The print was published circa 1980 by W.R. Royle and Son of London and depicts a late 19th-century scene with a crowd of women, men and children dressed in shades of blue and grey, sheltered by a covering of matching umbrellas. The image is signed ‘Renoir’ in plate to the lower right. It is matted and presented under glass in a wooden frame fitted with hanging wire to the verso. The frame backing includes a label with artist, title and publication information.
Condition
- minor discoloration to image; scuffs, nicks and scratches to frame; small punctures to backing paper.
