Dresden and Schumann Porcelain Tableware
Item Details
A selection of German porcelain tableware including a bread basket, two compotes, and four plates. The hand-painted Sandizell basket features an oval form with pierced designs, colorful applied flowers to the exterior, gilding throughout, and four pad feet. It is marked ‘Dresden’ to the underside with the Sandizell factory mark. The Carl Thieme compotes and plates have a matching painted floral pattern in bright orange, pink, and purple with pierced accents to the verges and gilding to the curvilinear edges. They are marked ‘Dresden’ to the underside with the Carl Thieme Saxonian factory mark. The Empress Dresden Flowers plates are marked ‘Schumann Germany’ to the underside.
Condition
- the larger compote has a significant piece missing on the base, with hairline cracks and staining.
