A circa 1960s lithograph poster on paper for Denmark’s Tivoli Gardens amusement park, after a design by Danish artist Erik Stockmarr (1905-1963). The piece depicts a male figure in a harlequin costume dancing against a festive multicolored background of overlapping diamond shapes. The print is signed ‘Stockmarr’ in plate to the upper left; it includes the text ‘Tivoli’ printed to the top and bottom, which is additionally echoed throughout the design. The poster is presented under glass in a wooden frame with black and silver tone finish, fitted with hanging wire to the verso.

Condition

- slight discoloration to print; edge wear, scuffing and paint loss to frame; tears to frame’s backing paper.
