Chippendale Style Corner Chair with Seashell Upholstery

A carved Chippendale style corner chair. The mahogany finished chair features a curved acanthus and scroll carved crest rail with three turned spindles and two pierced and carved splats joining bird carved handholds. The seat is upholstered in a salmon colored fabric embellished with mollusks and coral. The chair stands on acanthus and leaf carved cabriole legs ending with claw and ball feet.

Condition

- heavy gouges and scratches; joints show breaks and repairs; missing a carved piece of wood; finish loss.
