Kentucky Percussion Full-Stock Sporting Rifle from S.A.&T.
Item Details
A Kentucky percussion fullstock sporting rifle from S.A.&T. The rifle has a 43’ barrel with an oxidized bore. The barrel has a plum and pewter patina and features a simple German silver front sight with v-notch semi-buckhorn rear. Maker mark on top flat reads “S.A.&T./Louisville KY”. The lock is by Joseph Golcher with etching and sporting fowl. There is a brass nose-cap, simple thimbles and tailpipe, single spur trigger-guard and simple butt and toe plates. The barrel pins fit through kite shaped brass escutcheons with a brass geometric shaped side-plate. The stock is cherry; the lock is dual-acting and the gun is equipped with double set triggers and an older candy-striped ramrod.

- nipple has worn away and the skirt of the hammer shows minor damage
