An English bamboo writing desk with chinoiserie lacquered panel, circa 1880. The black finished piece features a hand-painted, hinged top with bird and floral motif revealing a three-section, wallpaper lined interior. It stands on a blackened bamboo frame with a tiered shelf stretcher.

- wobbly; surface scratches, nicks and marks; top opens with some difficulty.
