West German Christian Ulbricht Hunter "Smoker"

Item Details

A West German Christian Ulbricht Hunter ‘Smoker’, or ‘smoking man’ incense burner. The hunter figure is hand-painted shown in a green costume, with rosy cheeks and a full head of animal fur hair. It has a feathered hat, pipe, and carries a rifle over one shoulder, with a small rabbit at the feet. The top half is removable and reveals a small brass reservoir and metal spring mechanisms to hold the top in place. It is stamped to the underside ‘Holzkunst / Christian Ulbricht / Handmade in West Germany’.

Condition

- to fair; glue residue; gun is broken away from body; minor wear and marks.
- stamp is partially rubbed.
