Item Details

A vintage hand-knotted Persian Malayer wool carpet runner. This rug is rendered in a palette of cranberry, ivory, sapphire, charcoal, slate, rose, sepia, and buff. The cranberry field begins with a diamond medallion infilled with floral motifs, with coordinating tulip edged spandrels, and features an all-over herati pattern, along with a sawtooth pattern to the edges. Framing the field is a main stylized herati patterned border, as well as a chained boteh border, a ribbon meander, and another sawtooth pattern. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a sand colored warp fringe to the ends. It is labeled to the underside.
