A hand-knotted Persian Malayer area rug. This rug is hand-knotted in a palette of olive, rust red, burgundy, navy, cream, cerulean, coral, black, and ocher. It has a scalloped almond shaped center medallion on a field patterned with multi-blossom flowers, leaves, and palmettes to each of the four corners. It has carnation meander and sawtooth guard borders . It has a main border of linked palmettes and lobbed flowers. It is finished with overcast edges and fringe to either end. Marked to verso ‘Made in Iran’.
