A late 20th-century carved wooden folk art-style Madonna figure. The artisan piece depicts a robed Virgin Mary figure standing with hands folded in prayer, a large round halo encircling her head. The work is carved to the center of a narrow, rounded piece of gnarled wood resembling a cypress knee. No signature or maker’s marks were found.

Condition

- to fair; natural wear, chips, cracks and weathering to wood with variegated tones throughout; wear to lower edges of piece, with flaking and chips to wood; sticker residue to underside.
