Item Details
A pair of ceramic phrenology busts in the style of L.N. Fowler. Each figure is molded with robust features and rests on a square pedestal, finished with an ivory craquelure glaze. They are printed with black script labels and inscriptions to the base: ‘Phrenology by L.N. Fowler.’ Lorenzo Fowler was a prominent publisher in the field of phrenology during the mid 19th century, producing model busts to accompany his books.

- intentionally crazed finish; minor marks and faint scratches.
