An early Victorian, circa 1860s, shell-back slipper chair having a scalloped back with channel-tufting curving to form two arms over the channel-turfed seat. The chair is upholstered in a silver satin-like fabric with a gold floral print, trimmed in gold fringe. The chair stands on walnut legs with scrolled feet. There are no visible maker’s marks.
