Robert Cuttbush English Tall Case Clock with 8-Day Movement
Item Details
An tall case clock with an 8-day movement from Robert Cuttbush, a little known clockmaker from Maidstone, Kent in England. The clock has a wood case with a cherry finish and features a tapered bonnet with a decorative pierced design with gold-tone orb and spire finials. The bonnet features a silver-tone metal face with black Roman numerals and serpentine hands with three brass key arbors and decorative raised brass spandrels. Other features of the clock include a latched wood door on the center with a brass pendulum and cylinder style weights, chimes on the half and the hour and a wood podium style pedestal with inset wood panels and a carved apron base with bracket feet. The clock is marked as repaired by ‘Vleck’.
