An original tempera painting on board by 20th century Cincinnati, Ohio-based artist Murl H. Rush (1921 – 2004) titled Summer on the Plains: Horse in Front of Teepees. Rush specialized in Western and American Indian genre scenes. Depicted in the artwork is two tents, a few Native American Indians, a horse to the front of the tents all in a sunlit background. The artwork is housed in a wooden frame with gold toned speckled detailing throughout and wire to the verso for hanging.
