Item Details

A hand-knotted Persian Lilihan wool carpet runner. This rug is rendered in a palette of scarlet, cerulean, rose, arctic blue, olive, clay, purple, rust, forest green and white. The scarlet red field features a flower design filled with vasiforms, flower blossoms and palmettes along with rosettes and boteh motifs. Its spandrels are shaped like flower petals grounded in cerulean blue. Framing the field is a main lily border, along with running water patterned guard borders. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and an ivory warp fringe to the ends. A tag to the back reads ‘Lilihan, Iran’.
