Gouache Painting of 1788 United States Army Captain
Item Details
A gouache painting on toned paper of a 1788 United States army captain. This painting depicts the aforementioned captain of the Light Artillery adorned in an ornate blue and red jacket, rapier and frilled hat posed on a horse that trots onward in profile. To the lower left corner is a graphite inscription of the subject, as well as an illegible signature. The painting is presented under matting in a stained and gold tone wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.

- mild discoloration to image; light wear to frame.
