A late 18th century Georgian-era sterling silver tea service featuring three items by London silversmiths Robert Sharp and William Fountain. Included is a Robert Sharp teapot and creamer and a William Fountain handled sugar basket. The items feature fluted wells, the creamer and basket rise above pedestal bases with square plinths and the teapot features a hinged lid with a scrolled wood handle. The creamer and teapot feature an ‘RS’ maker’s mark, a lion standard mark, a ‘B’ for 1797, a King George III duty mark and a London city mark. The sugar bowl features a ‘WF’ maker’s mark, a lion standard mark, an ‘A’ for 1796, a King George III duty mark, and a London city mark. The total approximate weight, including the teapot with a wooden handle, is 33.510 ozt.
