An antique oil painting on board by an anonymous artist. The piece depicts a 19th-century clipper ship navigating stormy ocean waters under an overcast sky. The unsigned work is presented without glass in a wooden frame with gold tone gesso embellishments to the front and hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- heavy craquelure present to painting with areas of chipping and paint loss to the lower right; surface scratching and nicks to frame; no backing paper.
