1960 John Hamilton Encaustic Painting on Masonite
Item Details
An encaustic painting on masonite made in 1960 by John Hamilton. The work depicts a stylized nautical scene, with a sailboat represented to the lower left and a moon to the upper right. The work is incised with the artist’s signature and presented in a wooden frame with hanging wire on the verso.
Condition
- mild to moderate discoloration to image; small chips to image surface, mostly along left side of image; piece is loose in the frame at the bottom; frame exhibits moderate abrasion wear.
